Hi friends! Welcome to our family's cabin on the Upper Deschutes River, just downstream from Wickiup Reservoir, surrounded by the Deschutes National Forest and 45 minutes from Bend. Original log cabin, built in 1965 by the Miller family in Bend (Miller Lumber, etc) was added on and remodeled recently. 2 beds, 1 1/2 bath.....both bedrooms have queen beds and there is a futon in the living room for an extra bed as well. Room in the master bedroom for an extra blow-up mattress or pack-n-play if needed. White noise machines provided. French doors off of each bedroom. Views of the river from the living room, kitchen and front bedroom. Gas range in kitchen and grill for outdoor use. KoolKing air stand alone air conditioner. Newly stained decks with built in benches and new dock on the private inlet which takes you to the river. Starlink internet is good for streaming live sports and staying connected.
No pets at this time.
$250/night with a 2 night minimum or $1,500/week. $100 laundry charge as there is none currently onsite.
This home has a smart lock so before your trip, I'll text you a code for access.
Some popular activities out there:
• Riverfront firepit - split some wood, toast some marshmallows and wind down the day
• Ride bikes up to Wickiup Reservoir (less than 2 miles on gravel road) and go for a swim
• Enjoy a family movie night on the 60" streaming ready Smart TV
• Take a float in tubes or kayak down the Big Deschutes River (kayaks provided)
• Bring your own boat and fish/float the Deschutes or explore Wickiup (boat ramp for the reservoir is 2.5 miles from cabin or Tenino - Deschutes Paddle Trail is about a mile upstream)
• Take the kids for a hike or go for a run through the national forest
• Flyfishing opportunities are endless - rainbow and huge brown trout!
• Check out the bird life right from the living room or out on the deck
